UTAC®
Shuttling Monoclonal Antibodies from Pill to Bloodstream

UTAC® (Universal Transcytosis of Active Cargo) is a novel platform technology designed to enhance systemic uptake of monoclonal antibodies and other biopharmaceutical drugs from the gut via the oral route. UTAC® bispecifics bind monoclonal antibodies in a non-covalent, reversible manner and then co-opt a natural transport process in order to shuttle these antibodies across the epithelial single-cell barrier that lines the gut. Once a UTAC® bispecific has transported the antibody across the epithelial cell, it releases the antibody into the tissue and onward into the systemic blood circulation. UTAC® bispecifics are co-formulated with cargo antibody in pill format. UTAC® works seamlessly with Intract’s protease-protection Soteria® and rapid-release Duocoat® technologies. Together, this triad of proprietary Intract technologies maximises oral monoclonal antibody systemic uptake, addressing the holy grail in biologics delivery.
